Block Printing on Tote Bags
Learn how to design symmetrical tile patterns that will repeat endlessly when printed. Participants will learn the process of designing, carving and printing their original tile design on both tote bags and paper. For initial inspiration we will take a visual journey through history to see how tiles have been used to adorn buildings, walls, furniture and fabrics.
You will walk away with all the tools, materials, and skills you will need to continue this creative process at home. Your tile can also be used to print on other items such as fabric yardage, tee shirts, wrapping paper etc. The sky’s the limit once you master this simple and amazingly flexible technique.
This workshop includes all of the materials you will need to practice the art of block printing.
A vegetarian lunch and sparkling water will be served.
What to bring? If you’re worried about getting paint or ink on your clothing, we suggest wearing something where it won’t matter too much.
Saturday, August 17, 10 - 3 pm. There are 6 spots for this event. This is a FREE workshop as part of our kick-off series. All materials will be provided as well as a vegetarian lunch + sparkling water.
